Are you looking for a way to spice up your car and add some individuality to it without ruining its resale value? This is something that takes a little bit of skill and planning, combined with a touch of common sense.
Here are some of the best ways to give your car a touch of personality while still looking classy.
Built in Visual Display
Many modern cars have a bland, black plastic central control unit with a miserable orange or green display. These are standard, tacky and not really all that helpful – especially considering on many of them you can’t listen to a CD and see the time at the same time.
Why not invest in a built in visual display unit? These units look modern and cool, as well as including a huge range of features that will make driving much more enjoyable – like SatNav, Bluetooth compatibility and touchscreen controls.
Sparkling Alloys
If your car is still fitted with plastic wheel trims, then get rid of these ASAP! They look tacky, they are easily damaged and they just aren’t cool. What you want to do is put some shiny new alloy wheels on your car – this will give the whole exterior of the vehicle the pick-me-up it needs. These don’t have to be expensive, shop around for a set that look the business and don’t cost the earth – but importantly, make sure they are compatible with your car!
Seat Covers
Seat covers aren’t the tacky, poor fitting things that they used to be. Now you can get covers that perfectly compliment your seats, fitting closely and giving the interior of your car the vibrant colours that it deserves.

Aftermarket Steering Wheel
This is a bit more of a specialist upgrade to your vehicle, but if you have a cheap, plastic looking steering wheel then this can have a huge impact on the overall feel you have when driving a car. There are so many options available here, you could go for small and sporty, big and luxurious, soft leather, hard metal or even a steering wheel that lets you control the radio and your phone!
Better Speakers
Often, stock speakers in cars aren’t the best. They can be tinny and distort the sound very badly. Why not invest in some good quality speakers to replace the ones you currently have – this will give you much more pleasure when driving around and can help to add to your vehicle’s appeal. Don’t go over the top here and put a giant subwoofer in the boot, just replace the speakers you have with ones that produce a nicer quality sound.
